This policy explains how House Doron collects, uses and protects your information when you visit https://housedoron.com (the “Site”), a US-based blog about home decor, DIY, real estate, home improvement and gardening. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
Effective date: September 23rd 2025
1. What we collect
- What you give us: name, email, comments, newsletter signup, contact-form messages and giveaway entries.
- What we collect automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location and cookie data.
- From third parties: analytics, advertising and social media partners.
We do not ask for sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, financial account details or health information. Please don’t send it to us.
2. How we use it
We use your information to publish comments, send newsletters you signed up for, answer messages, run giveaways, understand and improve the Site, show ads, track affiliate referrals, prevent spam and fraud, and meet legal requirements. Our emails follow the CAN-SPAM Act and include an unsubscribe link we honor within 10 business days.
3. Cookies and tracking
We and our partners use cookies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, measure traffic and show relevant ads. You can block cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of interest-based ads, visit the DAA WebChoices tool or the NAI opt-out page. We treat Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale or sharing where state law requires it. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
4. Third-party services
We use outside services such as analytics (for example Google Analytics), ad networks (for example Google AdSense), email providers, web hosting, and embedded videos and social posts. They may collect data under their own privacy policies.
5. Affiliate links and sponsored posts
Some posts contain affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsored posts are clearly disclosed, as the FTC requires. We are a publisher, not a real estate agent or contractor, and we share your enquiries with third parties only with your consent.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with service providers who help run the Site, with advertising and analytics partners (which some state laws treat as “sharing”), when the law requires it, and in a business sale or merger.
7. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS and access controls, but no system is completely secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as state law requires.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on your state (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Virginia), you may have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. You will not be treated differently for using these rights. To make a request or appeal a denial, email us at the address below. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by 45 more where the law allows. California residents can also use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our footer.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information, in line with COPPA. We do not knowingly sell or share data of anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will post the new date here. Questions or requests: teamhousedoron@gmail.com, Washington, DC 20001.
